Starling’s Rest sits on eight acres of hillside overlooking Alexander Valley’s vineyards and redwoods. The property stretches from valley floor to a ridge, sandwiched between vineyards, and offers dramatic views clear across the valley.
Starling’s Rest is the perfect retreat at the end of a a busy week, with Healdsburg,Geyserville,and Windsor a 15-20 minute drive, along with Coppolla Winery Resort, Sonoma Lake for boat rentals, the Russian River, wineries, restaurants and Anderson Valley (famous for Pinot and apples).
Our guests drive through a stone gate and just a few hundred feet up the hillside to Starling’s Rest. A large front deck accents the front of the home and accommodates cedar outdoor furniture, a wood smoking BBQ and chair swing. At the far end of the front deck is a shaded hammock.
Enter the house from the front porch and into the grade room, designed for entertaining this contemporary styled area, in the heart of the house. Vaulted wood beamed ceilings, TV and sofas offer a nice conversation area. This open room connects to the modern gourmet kitchen and is one of three distinct living spaces; the TV lounge, Fireplace Lounge, and spacious dining room.
The whole house is wired for sound with a Sonoma digital music system.
With the new modern kitchen, guests can esily prepare eleborate meals, and have lots of counter space, modern appliances, including Vikig, Fischer Paykel double oven, warming drawer, large refrigerator freezer, dishwasher and 2 prep sinks.
An inside laundry is also just off the kitchen side.
Exit onto the back deck for the hot tub, and beautiful hillside and ridgetpviews. In the late fall and winter months, thousands of starlings swirl and rest in the trees above. Deer, quail and rabbits also live near and visit the hillside.
A 7 person hot tub, and quality outdoor furiture are provided.
The vineyard views at the front of the home are perfect in the morning with coffee, juice or continental breakfast. In the evening the west facing front deck enjoys spectacular views and sunsets across the valley. And late into the evening the stars are amazing here.
Starling’s Rest is in a pocket of little or no light pollution. The property owner provides you with a telescope for star gazing. Take visual ride on the milky way and get lost in the country, even if it’s just for a weekend. SCP 387
